Eczema Natural Remedies

Eczema Cures and Treatment for Dyshidrotic Eczema
(and other types of eczema)

Eczema natural remedies are effective in helping to minimize or eliminate eczema. Eczema cures are still not 100% effective (because causes are still undetermined - such as which foods cause eczema), but natural treatments for eczema do work.

In fact, natural old home remedies for eczema are as effective, if not more so, than commercial preparations - and they are certainly less risky from a side effects perspective compared to some of the steroid-type eczema cures and treatments available through your doctor.

The cause of eczema is still being researched but it has not been successfully determined. Likely because there are a number of triggers - food, allergies, genetics are just some.

How to have healthy skin? To-date an eczema cure has not been developed; but there are effective commercial and natural treatments for eczema. And natural old home remedies have actually been found to minimize flare-ups.

Eczema Natural Remedies - Use Food

For some sufferers, food allergies can be a cause of eczema; knowing which foods cause eczema is very important to you. Make sure that you are tested for allergies if you have eczema.

But food can also be an effective eczema treatment source. For example, fish oil has been identified as one of a series of natural eczema cures. Research has found that high doses (5.5 grams) of Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA - an omega-3 fatty acid - improved atopic eczema symptoms within an 8 week period.

In further studies, Eicosapentaenoic acid or EPA - another omega-3 fatty acid found in fish - was provided to a group suffering from eczema for a 12 week period. A dose of 1.8 grams of was given for a 12 week period and all members of the group reported significant improvement of their symptoms.

The fish oil is believed to be effective in improving symptoms by reducing the presence of leukotriene B4; which is naturally produced by the body (often in response to other issues). Leukotriene B4 has been identified as an immune system molecule that is present in a number of inflammatory conditions, such as eczema, asthma, psoriasis and bronchitis. If over produced, or under-used, by the body other conditions arise. Fish oil provides a balance within the body.

These eczema natural remedies and treatments sound rather scientific. That’s because science wants to prove, or disprove, the natural old home remedies that our families have passed down for generations. And the scientists are finding that these treatments do work.

Other food remedies for eczema cures are probiotics, which are supplements of microorganisms. Presently lactobacilli is very commonly found in as an additive of healthy bacteria to yoghurt; and is being advertised as having a health benefit for consumers.

A research study of infants with eczema who were given a hypoallergenic baby formula with lactobacilli bacteria reported skin improvements after just one month. (These infants were allergic to cow’s milk.)

Additionally, when breast-feeding mothers were given large doses of lactobacilli twice a day for a month, the researchers reported that eczema symptoms improved.

The affect of probiotics, or good live bacteria, appears to be an improvement in immune system responses. Look for yogurt in your grocery store that is labelled as having probiotics included (not all yogurts have the added good bacteria).

Another effective remedy for eczema: certified organic aloe vera and colloidial oatmeal help bring relief to itchiness, flaking and redness, plus it makes the skin softer. Click Here To Read More...
