  • Low intake of highly processed or refine foods. That includes junk food and lots of pre-packaged foods.

Other tips for relieving constipation include:

  • Keeping a regular meal schedule. Irregular meals or erratic eating habits cause some people with sensitive stomachs to suffer from constipation or diarrhea.
  • Chew your food completely.
  • Don't hold back when the urge to evacuate is there. Try to relieve yourself as soon as you feel the need.
  • Engage in regular exercise. A good brisk walk will do, especially after dinner or a large meal.
  • Take 2-4 teaspoons of castor or linseed oil before bedtime also helps in relieving constipation.
  • Mix ¼ to ½ teaspoon of Epsom salt into a ½ glass of water; a good home remedy for constipation.
