  • Clove oil: a drop or two directly on the cavity.
  • Sore throat spray: spray on a cotton gauze and bite on it.
  • Almond extract: a drop or two directly on the tooth.
  • A drop of brandy on a cotton gauze and bite on it.
  • A drop of Nyquil on a cotton gauze and bite on it.
  • If the toothache has resulted in a swelling surrounding the tooth, then use ice packs to take the swelling down.
  • Clean teeth gently and then rinse your mouth frequently with lukewarm, salt water.

If a toothache is caused by a cavity, you will need a dentist to treat the tooth. If a toothache is caused by grinding your teeth, or as a secondary infection (swollen glands that apply pressure to the roots of the tooth), or from being received a physical injury to the face, then you can find relief by using a home remedy for toothache.
