Metabolic Syndrome Diet

Metabolic Weight Loss Centers

A metabolic syndrome diet will help you deal with health issues. Visit metabolic weight loss centers to learn the best foods for you. What should your basal metabolic rate be? What is metabolic equivalent?

The Metabolic Syndrome Diet

The best approach to metabolic syndrome is to try and prevent it by managing your health through regular exercise, stress management and a healthy diet. These are key factors to treating or preventing metabolic syndrome.

Stress can be a trigger for metabolic issues: such as diabetes, heart disease, blood pressure issues. Regular exercise can help you manage your stress and your diet: exercise for 30 minutes daily every day if possible but at least 4 days a week.

A specific metabolic health signal is obesity, a high body mass index (in particular, 'belly fat'). Discuss your weight with your doctor. For your health, you need to be with 10% of what your body weight should be for your height and your body type and build. Find out what your body mass index (BMI) is: target is 24. Target for your waist-to-hip ratio is less than 1.

If you need to lose weight, make sure you eat a balanced diet; an average calorie-controlled diet is often between 1200 and 1500 calories per day to lose weight – for adult women (this needs to be verified by your medical doctor as each person has to be individually assessed).

Balance Your Metabolism: Eat a Metabolic Syndrome Diet

By following a metabolic syndrome diet menu you can manage, and perhaps even prevent, metabolic health issues.

  • Eat three meals, each and every day, and 2 or 3 planned snacks.

For breakfast: Eat protein and complex carbohydrates; for example, 1 slice of multi grain bread with 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter, on top of which you can sprinkle 1 teaspoon of hemp hearts.

Eat a snack 3 to 4 hours later: piece of fruit and 10 nuts.

For lunch: Eat 1 cup of vegetarian lentil soup. 3 carrot strips and 3 celery sticks.

Eat a snack 3 to 4 hours later: 1 cup of yoghurt and ½ cup of grapes.

For dinner: ½ grilled chicken breast, asparagus and green beans, 1/3 cup of brown rice.

Eat a snack 3 to 4 hours later: pita chips (baked) and salsa or veggies and dip or fruit.

To improve metabolic performance, eat small meals (control your portions), more frequently. Eat complex carbohydrates: whole grains, nuts, vegetables (particularly cabbage, broccoli, etc – high in fiber), fruits, etc. Fresh fruits (unprocessed) and vegetables (dark green are very good) have carotenoids and antioxidants that protect against cancer and that improve metabolic performance. Choose unsaturated fats, such as olive oil, safflower oil and canola oil. Use fats from omega-3 or omega-6 sources (such as fish oil sources, flax, hemp hearts, and more).

Your diet needs to be balanced, nutritious, tasty and varied. Avoid all fast foods, fried foods, foods made with refined sugars, fats and other unhealthy ingredients and/or processes. Avoid empty, non nutritional calories. Portion control is important; as is eating every 3 or 4 hours. Food choices should be focused on protein and high fiber foods.

If you have trouble managing your weight, diet and exercise, then consider metabolic weight loss centers to help you lose weight and keep the weight off. One of the checks that the center, or a medical doctor, may do is to see what your basal metabolic rate is; this is the measure of your resting metabolic rate. Often, metabolic equivalent is also used to compare the energy expenditure among people of different weight, height and build. Metabolic weight loss centers can help you learn more about the best diet and nutrition for you and your changing lifestyle.

Treatment for Metabolic Syndrome

A natural old home remedy to help balance your metabolic rate is green tea. Three to five cups of green tea per day is recommended, however recognize that green tea is caffeinated and do not drink the tea too late in the day (you might not be able to sleep). Green tea has a positive effect on your metabolism, help blood sugar regulation, and can inhibit fat absorption; try it and see.

You can also try a natural product from Native Remedies called Insulate Plus, it helps regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels, improves circulation, decreases cravings, and encourages a healthy digestive system. In 3-6 weeks, along with a metabolic syndrome diet and a consistent exercise program, you can begin to see improvements.
