Stuffy Nose Problem
by Birander
Answer from Natural Old Home Remedies: While you may think there is a relationship between pneumonia and your colds and allergies, it's probably not true. We suggest checking with your doctor to see what he or she says. Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs; whereas a cold that results in a congested or stuffy nose is often an upper respiratory infection (other symptoms are a sore throat and sneezing). Allergies are a result of a disruption of your immune system; an allergic reaction can result in a stuffy nose and it can also result in sneezing, rashes, swelling and some serious and life threatening reactions. Pneumonia needs to be treated under the care of your doctor. A cold and stuffy nose can be treated with lots of fluids (drink water) and good rest - if your cold lingers on for more than two weeks, visit your doctor to get it checked out. Allergy treatment often requires that you first are diagnosed for what causes the allergic reaction - visit your doctor. Once you know what you are allergic to you can either avoid that item or substance or you will need to take antihistamines to treat the reaction. Colds and allergies can develop into serious conditions if left untreated. Make sure you take care of yourself and work on prevention of colds and avoidance of items that trigger allergic reactions in your system; then your stuffy nose problems will occur less frequently.
